Yes I know it has been awhile since I have added any posts. The lack of time is due to the fact that life is filled with a full time job, a house, a pair of nutso cats and a very wild child named Holden Gene Ryding. It has now been a little over a year since I have posted anything so I will try to do some catch up.....wish me luck!!

We are so lucky to have such a wonderful daycare!! Every kiddo gets a Birthday Celebration!! So since Wheat Free/Egg Free isn't so great Mayma (aka Gramma Carla) make some wonderful sugar cookies that were shaped like tools. So the kids had an Ice Cream and Cookie party for our little 2 year old!! He had such a blast!!

Holden got many sets of tools for Christmas and he is really good at using them.

Im never able to tell him that something is broken cause he goes

Making the most of what is left of summer.

Here is Holden on his classic red tricycle learning how to ride. His legs are about 1.5 inches too short to even reach the pedals but he sure gave it a try!!!
At least he is very happy at the same time!!

It ended up where he just used his legs to push himself where he needed to go.

There..this one fits a little bit better!!

I have a feeling that next summer we won't be able to stop him no matter how fast we run!!!

The next day was was Dera & Eric's Wedding. It was a beautiful day and the wedding was gorgeous!! We didn't get many pics from the wedding itself cause I was in it but this post is all about the danging maniac that is Holden!! I couldn't get then to load in the order that I wanted but you get the picture.

He finally crashed at 11:30 and slept till 10am the next morning.
We had to hold onto this boy kicking and screaming just to get him to settle down. He was asleep in about 5 minutes!!

We visited Grand Forks for Cousin #5's wedding. These are some shots from the night before. It was a fun evening..it was also Grandpa Benson's 80th Birthday so it was great to have all the family there. Holden loved finally getting to actually play with his cousin Lucy.

Just a quick update from our home front. We are all doing really well. It has been such a busy summer/fall season. I feel guilty we haven't hardly taken any pictures lately. but I promise as soon as I get a chance I will post them.

I mostly just wanted to kind of let everyone know the results of Holdy's allergy testing that he had done on Monday. Im not gonna throw any numbers at you all cause that won't mean as much to you as this. Holden rapidly seems to be growing out of his food allergies. It looks like we will be doing a food challenge on him in March using Wheat. And fron these they will do Eggs and then Peanuts. Who knows, mabey in about 6 months our little boy will be able to have a regulas peice of toast which is his favorite breakfast!!! YYYYEEEESSSSS!!

Andy had a great idea yesterday!! We were going to be in the area on Saturday for a grad party so why not bring Holden to the Zoo. Now keep in mind its not the biggest and most spectacular zoo in the world but I think all of us had a pretty great time. We saw lots of animal and even got to interact with a few of them. It was a good day!!

Caution..This may tug at your heart strings a bit!!!

Holden has 3 things hung up on the walls in his room:

1. A picture of a mama giraffe kissing a baby giraffe.

2. His Jesus Loves Holden banner from baptism.

3. The Guardian Angel picture that hung in my room when I was little.

When we are done changing the diaper he usually sits on his changing table for a few minutes to talk to me. While he is sitting there I ask him where his giraffes are and he points to the picture and says "baby". Then I ask him if Jesus Loves Holden and he points to his banner and nods his head. Last but certainly now least I ask him where his angel is and he points to the angel picture. At this point both him and I are thinking he is like the smartest baby in the world. After he points to his angel I always say to him that Grandpa Greg is his Guardian Angel now and will always watch over him and protect him.

So the other night he grabbed a picture frame off of the table. It is a picture of the family waiting for Uncle Nick to come home from Iraq. In the picture is Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt Jenn, Andy & Me. Holden was pointing to everyone in the picture and attempting to say the names. Right from his mouth there was Daddy...Mama...Gaaaa(Grandma) & Jaaa(Jenn). He kept pointing to Grandpa and I would ask him if that was Grandpa...he would nod his head and keep pointing to everyone else again. What came out of his mouth next sent so many emotions through me all at once. He once again pointed to Grandpa and I asked him again "Holden, is that Grandpa?" And no lie he just looked at me, smiled and said...Angel!!

Wow, what an amazing moment that I will definitely remember for the rest of my life!!

These are the cookies that mama made for me. The first pan turned out completely flat and the ones after that were perfect!!

This is an actual homeade cookie that I can eat!!

Mama learned that when substituting ingredients that she
really must do the math correct!! The rest of the batch
turned out fantastic after more flour was added.
These cookies are the Nestle Tollhouse recipe with egg replacer and soy/rice flour!!

In the beginning of April just like clock work we got 22" of new snow in about 10 hours!! Wow that was a lot of the white stuff!! But we made the best of it and went sledding. It was finally warm enough to be outside and play in the snow. Although it was really sticky it was still a blast..it gave Daddy & Mama a real workout!!

On January 26th I turned 1!! We had a great party and so many of my friends and family got to come and help me celebrate..it was so much fun!!

Okay so we are back..I think for good this time. We got a new computer so now I can load pics and share Holdy G's life with you some more. A lot has changed in the past few months. Holden has grown like a weed physically and mentally!! He has been walking since about the November and we haven't been able to slow him down since. He jabbers constantly and is mimicing everything we say. He is beginning to repeat what sounds animals make and recognize what animals they are when we point. He loves to read and just can't get enough of it. Im beginning to wonder if we have a prodigy on our hands..Nobel Prize possibly??? He is so smart and yet so goofy at the same time..he amazes us many times in a day!! So enjoy the catch up blog marathon. Erin

This week we had to say goodbye to Gregory Gene Gauwitz 1953-2008.

He was a wonderful loving husband to Carla, father to Nicholas and Erin, father-in-law to Andrew and Jennifer, son to Caroline, brother to Jeff and Drew and most recently an awesome grandfather to Holden Gene Ryding. Mama Update

So everyone may be wondering what the heck is going on with Holdy G...well here goes. On Wednesday the 17th we switched doctors once again and found a pediatritian in Fargo who actually seemed to have her head on straight. She ordered up some basic allergy tests (which involved me holding the poor little boy down while they took blood..horrible) and took a swab of one of the spots on his arm. From here they told me to keep the appointment with the Pediatric Allergist in December, they would call me with results of the testing they did today and she would see holden back in 3 weeks.

Today is the 23rd and I got a call from the Doctor this morning with a few results. Here goes..the basic allergy test came back and Holden is allergic to Dairy/Soy, Wheat and Eggs. Wow what to do now..they moved his appointment with the Allergist up to Thursday and will do some more testing. I don't really know what the future holds for his food intake but I suppose that we will figure that out on Thursday.

I will be sure to keep everyone up to date with what is going on.
